Women are angels... and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly... on a broomstick, if need be. We are flexible like that!

I haven't posted anything in awhile. So I decided to look thru my pics on my phone to see if there is anything that I should post for posterity. lol

Winter Wonderland

Saturday Feb. 4th, Dave and I went Cross Country Skiing at Cheif Joseph Cross Country Ski trails south of Sula, MT.  It was the perfect day to cross country ski.  We couldn't have asked for better weather.
Dave got new skiis.  He hadn't skied for a long time.  Looks like he remembered.

"The Hut"  is a place to stop to warm up and visit with other skiers
These cute birds with white heads kept popping up. They are really cute and very curious.
A friend told me that they are called a Gray Jay or Whiskey Jack.

Yup, it was a gorgeous day and a lot of fun.
We will have to go here again.

Snowshoeing

Saturday, Jan 28th, was my first time snowshoeing.
We drove up to Lolo Pass Visitor Center and went snowshoeing on one of the trails.
We were hoping for sunshine like the weather quessers had predicted.  But, no it was not sunny.

Will Spring Ever Arrive?

I haven't posted anything on my blog for awhile.  I just haven't had that much to share.  But I decided I needed to add something.  So I will ramble on for a bit and then call it good.

This winter-like weather has been dragging on and on and on...
I am coming to the conclusion we will not have a spring this year.
Winter and then straight into summer.

The only indication that I have to believe that spring is really here is my lilac bush on my porch.
It is blooming.  And it smells so lovely.
I would like to breath in deep of the perfume and never let it out!

My Sweetie's B-day

I have been meaning to get these photos on my page for a couple weeks. Better late than never...

Dave's birthday was Jan 24th. I went down to Page that weekend to celebrate his birthday. We also took a little road trip to Pipe Springs National Monument that weekend.

The Birthday Boy.
(Dave has given me a tiara the last couple of years for my birthday, so I thought it only appropriate to get him a crown.)

Pipe Springs (SW of Kanab, UT) has some pretty interesting history. The building sits directly on a fault line. It was built like a fort, but never was attacked. The water that flowed was used to keep the south side of the building cool in the summer. An earth quake in the late 90's changed the aquifer and stopped the natural flow that had occured. The park service redirected another spring to keep the flow going.

It reminds me of Cove Fort in Utah. Especially the big wooden door.

The little cat walk to get you from one side of the building to the other.

This is an old glass fly trap. I thought it looked pretty neat in the window sill.

The sky was really cool the day we were there. The light shining on the fence with the dark ominous clouds in the background were really striking.

On our way back to Page, we went the long way and went thru Zion's National Park. It is the centenial this year. 1909-2009.
I got this cool pic as we were leaving the visitors center.

This was taken between Kanab and Page, on the North side of the highway. A rainstorm had just passed thru the area and the colors were so vibrant and rich looking.

X country skiing at Sundance w/ Jan

Jan called me this morning and asked me if I wanted to go skiing. Well, I thought for a minute. All my ski stuff is in Page with my husband. But then Jan asked if I wanted to rent skis and I thought for a second Yes! So we went up for 1/2 day passes.
It was a fantastic day up above the inversion. I haven't been cross country skiing for over 20 years. That sounds scarey in itself. But it must be like falling off a bike. I started getting the hang of it real quick. Not that I am a pro by any means. But at least I didn't fall down.
It was good to get a breath of fresh air. Thanks Jan. It was great!
