Thought I would put an update on my blog.
Christmas went well this year. Had kassler with saurkraut on Christmas Eve with family at my parents house. Can I say Yum? Kassler was really good this year. Or was it that we only have it once a year and it hit the spot?
Christmas day we had a large group for prime rib. I think we had about 13 at the table. That just about pushed the limit on the table sitting. We all fit and dinner was good (if I say so myself) But, it is definitly time for a new meat thermometer. Wanted the prime rib at medium rare, so I cooked the roast to 120 degrees thinking it would be plenty rare. Not so, it was pretty much well done.
Dave and I went back to my apartment the day after Christmas. The next day we went to Avatar. It is a good movie. Dave and I both liked it a lot.
Well, no pics for this blog post. I lost my battery charger for my camera. I am still looking. I hope it turns up soon. I even tried to look online to see if I could order a new one.
Women are angels... and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly... on a broomstick, if need be. We are flexible like that!

Thanksgiving in Page, AZ
Dave and I celebrated Thanksgiving in Page this year with Dave's family.
Dave's Mom, Theresa, flew into SLC on Mon. the 23rd. She hadn't flown since before 9-11. She was a little worried at first, but everything went well and not as difficult as she thought it would be.
Dave and Cody peeling the potatoes. (Thanks for the potatoes Gayle)
Dave's family hadn't seen Cody in a long time.
The day after Thanksgiving we went to the Grand Canyon.
Theresa and Cody hadn't ever been there. It was a fantastic day to go. It was cool, but not too cool and it was nice and clear.
Dave, Cheryl, Cody, Theresa, Matt, Jenny, Rick
Our first stop was at Desert Point (where the tower is located)
Cody and his Grandma have a little size difference.

Matt, Theresa, Rick
Daring for Cody. He was having a hard time with the heights.

Cody and Matt both sneeking up to the edge on their butts.

I love the shadows on this pic below. We had quite the audience watching.
Matt was getting really daring.

Matt was getting really daring.
He wanted to look over the cliff.
I'm not sure he got over close enough to see.
Even considering the sewer problem at the house. But that got fixed while we were at the Grand Canyon.
On the way back from Grand Canyon we stopped at the Cameron trading post for dinner. Dave loves the Navajo hot beef dish. It is roast beef and gravy on Navajo fry bread. I think most of us had that for dinner. It was delicious. Yum. Thanks Rick

Timpanogos Cave
today. This is the perfect weather to hike up to the cave.
It took us about an hour to get to the cave. The trail is 1.5 miles and
you climb 1065' up in elevation. But look at the view.
The photo below was taken about 1/2 way up looking toward Utah Valley.
They have a couple little tunnels that you go thru on your way up.
Once you get in the cave, you will have felt the hike was well worth it.Saturday, October 10, 2009

Fall Colors Up Hobble Creek
I really was surprised to see this field of ferns up on the mountain. It made a great picture with the fall colors in the back.
