Women are angels... and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly... on a broomstick, if need be. We are flexible like that!

Jumpers on Sept 29

I found out that the jumpers are testing out different parachutes.  That explains the different shapes and colors.  I took some video of them today.  Not an easy task with my little camera.  Enjoy!

Missoula Smoke Jumpers

A beautiful day to jump out of a perfectly good airplane??

On my way back from lunch today I got a few shots of some smoke jumpers doing proficiency jumps.
The jump base is close to the office (MTDC) where I am on my detail. And apparently their drop zone is right behind my office.
(I appologize for the picture I took of one jumping out the plane.  It is not in focus.  But I have added it anyway)

Jen and Parkers Wedding Day- Sept 18th

As you can see by the pictures the weather was perfect!

The string quartet played while everyone was getting seated
Jennifer's wedding colors were chocolate brown and fucia.
Her flowers were really pretty.
But then anything with fucia/purple I'm going to like.

Jennifer's flower girl was sooo cute! She would toss some rose petals on the ground
and then pick them up and put them back in her basket

Jennifer and her father, Clint
Jennifer looked awsome in her dress!

Lilly- the flower dog.
The wedding was really nice.  At the end of the ceremony everyone made a lot of noise with bicycle horns/ bells as the bride and groom walked down the isle with their bicyles side by side.
The reception followed the ceremony and we had a tasty meal with a variety of things.  There was a spinach salad, acini de pepe salad, salmon, rosemary chicken and really good beef (tender) and rolls.  The beef was my favorite. The bar served wine and beer.  The cake was amazing.  It was alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with a raspberry filling in between.  It was then covered in mocha cream frosting and a final coating of ganache.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of it.  It was really pretty.
Dave and I sat at a table with Clint's brother (Mark) and his wife.  We had good conversation Mark.  Mark and his wife drove all the way from California for the wedding.
After the meal, speeches and cake cutting, there was dancing.  Dave and I danced till midnight.  We had an early flight Sunday morning and needed to get up at 0330 to get to the airport in time (we should have just stayed up, lol).  We had a really good time and the wedding was a lot of fun!
Congratulations Mr and Mrs. Jardine!

Durango- Jen and Parker's Wedding

When Dave and I got to Durango, we ate lunch at the Balcony Bar and Grill.
It was upstairs above some of the stores on Main Street.
Food was good. Dave had a BBQ pork sandwich and I had a Turkey Bacon Sandwich
The ice tea was fresh and delicious.

The Durango-Silverton Train Station in Durango, CO

The ticket counter behind Dave
In front of the station there are these bronze foals.

Pinkerton Hot Spings.  Right along the side of the road to Durango MT resort.

On Friday Sept. 17th (the day before the wedding) Dave and I drove to
Silverton, CO
The higher up in elevation the better the fall colors were this weekend.
I love to get a picture with fall leaves in front of dark pines
They seem to glow!

We had lunch at the Brown Bear Cafe

City Hall has an egg on top!

Apparently Blair Street had all the Brothels. NOTORIUS!

The Durango-Silverton train stops right at Blair Street in Silverton

While we were taking pictures of the train.  Another one came into town.
I took some video (my video skills need a lot of work/practice) see below.

After we watched the trains, we went across the street to have our
Pictures taken in western apparel.  Dave seemed to be digin this little number.

Above town (on the hillside) there is a statue in front of a grove of pine trees
Dave and I drove up there to take a look.  I wanted to take a pic of town from that vantage point.
Below is the view of Silverton (facing East)
This is the statue above town

Friday night, Dave and I went to the rehearsal dinner.
I didn't get many pics at the rehearsal dinner because it was getting too dark.
